59TH STREET

59TH STREET PUMP STATION

NEW BUILD
CIVIC
COMPLETED 2019

Working with a large project team of Engineers, Easterwood Architect’s Studio provided full design and documenting of the City's secondary water supply facility. The 59th Street Pump Station is capable of meeting the full peak demand of the island in the event that storm damage disables the main pumps at the 30th Street Station. Funding sources for the project are Disaster related, drawing from both FEMA and Texas GLO sources. Stringent design constraints were driven by the use of the public funds. The challenging project was required to meet the following goals - Category 5 Hurricane 200 mph wind resistance, 500 year flood event 25' MSL floodproofing, while limiting the footprint expansion to a 10% increase over the damaged facility. Easterwood Architect’s Studio continues to served the team with Construction Administration through project completion in 2019.
